What is Terminal Voltage?

In this topic, you study Terminal Voltage – Definition.

Terminal voltage of a source is the potential difference across its terminals when it is delivering a current to the external load.

It is always less than e.m.f. as some of the e.m.f. developed is always used in overcoming the internal resistance of the source and is given by e.m.f. minus the internal voltage drop.
