Air Core Inductor

In this topic, you study Air Core Inductor.

Simplest form of air cored inductors consist of a coil wound on either ceramic or plastic former. Because of the absence of high permeability core, the size of the air-cored inductor is relatively large and its inductance is small as compared to that of the iron-cored or ferrite-cored inductor.

Applications of Air Core Inductor

Inductors of this type are suitable for high frequency applications.
