Iron Core Inductor

In this topic, you study Iron Core Inductor.

Ferromagnetic materials like iron, nickel, cobalt and many of their alloys, are used for the cores of such inductors to increase their inductance. To avoid d.c. saturation of the core, an air gap is sometimes provided in the core.

Applications of Iron Core Inductor

These inductors are basically used for low-frequency applications such as filters, chokes, amplifiers and many other d.c. applications.
